Gladys is social with dogs at the shelter. While in foster, gladys has been social with people of all ages. She walks well on leash, knows "sit" and "shake", is housebroken, plays with toys, and does well on car rides. .

16-JAN-26 - FOSTER - 1/11/26 Gladys was a bundle of pure joy, kicking off her outing with an energetic display of "zoomies" and happy dirt-kicking before settling into the car for some excited rolls across the backseat. She proved to be an exemplary passenger, remaining calm and well-behaved even with the window cracked open. Throughout the day, Gladys was a confident social butterfly—highly motivated by treats, affectionate with every person she met, and polite when sniffing other dogs. After soaking up all the new sights and sounds, she spent the ride back happily squeaking a toy before transitioning smoothly and calmly back to the shelter. SWS

29-DEC-25 - MEDICAL - 12/29/25 09:03 Email from contact center: silent night foster called in stating she does not have enough meds to last through the program. She was given a 14 day supply but 12/20 – 1/9 is almost 3 weeks. She wants to ensure that she is comfortable during her break from the shelter. She is on a joint supplement, Galiprant and Traz. Gladys A2438113 I called and spoke with the foster. I let her know I will be filling additional meds. Foster brought concern that patient has a hard lump on her abdomen and asked why it wasn't reflected in medical record. I stated that Gladys has been in and out of foster and sometimes we rely on fosters for medical concerns - I would make note of it and check it out when she comes back. JER

17-DEC-25 - INTERACT - 12/17/25 12:30 Gladys was laying in her bed but ran up to the kennel door when staff approached. She had a light pull on the way to the play yard and ignored the other dogs that we passed by on the way there. In the yard, Gladys mostly sniffed around and seemed uninterested in the toys at first. She also did not solicit any sort of attention from staff. Gladys was standing in one spot in the yard and started whining for a while until she saw a tennis ball to which she began tearing it apart. Gladys was easy to leash and bring back to her kennel. RP

03-DEC-25 - INTERACT - 12/03/25 12:20 When staff approached Gladys's kennel, she was standing by the gate. She was easy to leash and walked with a moderate pull to the yard. She walked around the yard multiple times sniffing her surroundings. She had a few small spurts of energy and ran a bit around the yard. She solicited attention from the staff member and accepted pets all over. On the way back, Gladys walked with less pulling than earlier. She was easily returned to her kennel. -DW

29-NOV-25 - FOSTER - 11/29/25 12:33 - . She did amazing! She was really good in the car and was great with all the other dogs at the event. We took her to Petco to pick out a treat and a toy which she loved. She knows how to sit and give paw. She was very polite and she actually has quite a bit of energy for her age. She walked great on the leash. I hope she finds a new home soon! MC

26-NOV-25 - INTERACT - 11/26/25 16:40 Gladys was easy to leash and walk. She is very treat motivated; constantly sitting to earn them. She knows "sit", "paw" and takes treats gently. Gladys allowed head, face, and body pets. Gladys followed treats into pool and afterward she did go into the pool one other time voluntarily. Overall, she did well during this interaction. -AA

26-NOV-25 - INTERACT - 11/24/25 Per volunteer: Gladys put her head right into the leash and walked without pulling. She sniffed around in the play yard, waded into the pool, and then came over for pets. She preferred back scratches at the base of the tail. She chased a few toys but didn’t bring them back, and then came back for more back scratches. She was easy to leash and began returning to her kennel, but then stopped once we got through the hallway towards the kennel area. Treats were needed to keep her moving and lure her towards her kennel, rather than turning back towards the play yards. She was fine once she got inside her kennel.

23-NOV-25 - INTERACT - 11/23/25 16:32 - Taken out Wed. 11/19; Gladys ran to the front of her kennel when called and bounced up and down at the gate while whining, but stood for leashing with all paws on the ground. She walked with a mild pull to the AD yards, where she explored with tail wag and wiggly body. She appears to be food obsessed and surface scrounged along with attempting the take the bag of treats left out; she will sit on command for treats and has a good recall, and did not show any signs of resource guarding when the bag of treats was taken from her. She ran the yard with high tail wag and solicited attention for petting, pushing her head into LB and becoming a bit jumpy. She was only mildly interested in toys, prodding with her snout but leaving on the ground. She waked with a mild pull back to her kennel and was easy to release and lock in. - LB

12-NOV-25 - INTERACT - 11/12/25 16:22 When staff approached Gladys kennel, she was standing by the gate. She was easy to leash and walked to the yard with a little bit of a pull. Once in the yard, she walked around sniffing her surroundings. Gladys also solicited attention from the staff member multiple times and accepted pets all over. She was interested in the dog in the neighboring play yard, and did a couple play bows towards them before running a lap around the yard. On the way back, she walked with a little bit of a pull and she was easily returned. -DW

05-NOV-25 - INTERACT - 11/05/25 12:35 Gladys was easy to leash by staff and had no issues with pulling while heading out to the yard. In the yard, Gladys played with toys and was more interested in the stuffed toys. She sat for treats and took them gently from staff. Her time in the yard she had a high wagging tail and forward ears. She would solicit attention from staff and enjoyed petting particularly on her back. While returning back to her kennel, Gladys ignored other dogs passing by and was easily returned back to her kennel and unleashed. - CW

01-NOV-25 - INTERACT - 10/29/25 Gladys was waiting by the exterior kennel gate when approached by staff. She was easy to leash and walked with no pull on the way to the yard. Showed no reactivity to passing dogs/kennels. She enjoyed chasing and retrieving toys. Came when called and allowed pets all over. Loose body for entire interaction. She knew how to sit and shake for treats and accepted them gently. Only allowed pets momentarilly and then would back away. She did a lot of sniffing and marking as well. Spent remainder of time in the yard playing fetch. - AH

31-OCT-25 - FOSTER - 10/31/25 15:13 Gladys did well on her outing. We went to Apollo beach. While in the car to Apollo beach she did start whimpering on and off. I think excited because after walking around for awhile and we got back in the car she didn’t whimper at all on the way back so I’m think maybe she just wanted to get out and do something. When we got to Apollo beach she loved walking around. As we were walking she saw several dogs but walked past them without any issue. She seems to like to be near people but is not overly needy. On the way back to the shelter she did not whimper and even laid down and rested.

29-OCT-25 - INTERACT - 10/29/25 14:43 Per volunteer: Gladys was very easy to leash and she came right to the front of the kennel as she had been sleeping on her bed. She did not pulland she ignored other dogs along the way. She allowed for all pets from head to tail and often. She is also very treat motivated and knows how to sit, shake, and accept treats gently (but she needs to be prompted). Gladys chased after all of the fluffy toys I threw. She was very easy to return to and unleash in her kennel.
