19-NOV-25 - INTERACT - 11/19/25 Ruthie greeted staff excitedly running inside to out, giving tail wags and loose body posture. Ruthie waited to be leashed and walked with a mild pull. In the yard Ruthie enjoyed chasing after all toys. Ruthie runs, jumps, chases, and retrieves any toys thrown. Ruthie also enjoys playing tug of war, and allows staff to grab toys from her with no problems. Ruthie allowed and welcomed all petting from head to tail. Ruthie returned to kennel with no pull and was returned with ease. AR

13-NOV-25 - INTERACT - 11/13/25 16:16 ruthie was very easy to take out of her kennel as she waited paitenlty for me to open the gate. The walk to the play yard was calm as she did not engage with the other dogs that barked at her. Once she was in the yard she mostly roamed around and sniffed everything she could, but would come over when called. She sat right next to staff as they pet and scratched her. She really liked getting her neck scratched the most. ruthie saw another dog enter the yard next to her and was very attentive. She ran over to watch but did not bark or get to close to them. Once out of sight Ruthie ran back over to staff and sat next to them again for more petting. The walk back to her room was just as calm.

23-OCT-25 - INTERACT - 10/22/25 14:48 Ruthie was waiting by exterior door of kennel when approached by staff. She was easy to leash and walked with a hard pull on the way to the yard. Showed no reactivity to passing dogs/kennels. Spent a good amount of time at first just sniffing around the yard. Ruthie would come when called and allowed pets all over. She had a loose body the entire interaction. She knew sit, shake, and lay down for treats and accepted them gently. Showed no interest in toys. Walked through back lot on harness and still had a hard pull. Easy to kennel. - AH

16-OCT-25 - INTERACT - 10/15/25 14:41 Ruthie was easy to leash and walked with a mild to hard pull on the way to the yard. Showed no reactivity to passing dogs/kennels. She spend the first few minutes sniffing around. Ruthie came when called and allowed pets all over. She knowed how to sit and accepted treats gently. She would chase the ball but did not retrieve. If the staff was standing she would start to exit search but if the staff sat on the bench she would come and sit with staff for pets. She knew how to sit and shake for treats which she took gently. When leaving yard she pulled hard towards lot so staff harnessed her and walked through lot where she walked a lot better with the harness. Easy to kennel. - AH

29-SEP-25 - FOSTER - 09/29/25 10:04 Foster note: Ruthie has a lot of home training. She is potty trained very well: she displays clear signs when she needs to go out. She knows basic commands like sit, paw, and stay. Ruthie is very easily redirected, as she is very responsive to her name and other recall words like “come” and “here”. She is energetic and very playful. She often gets the “zoomies” and will bounce around a room. ruthie showed a lot of interest in toys, including kongs and plush toys — she is a strong chewer. She did not show any signs of destructive, possessive, or aggressive behavior. She is food motivated and loves treats! She tolerated a bath with no issues, but does not seem to like water, as she shows the same signs of discomfort when in the rain. Whenever she is overwhelmed or placed in a stressful situation, she shows some signs of anxiety; she will find a hiding spot to lay down or curl up and become very difficult to coax or redirect.
