28-JAN-26 - INTERACT - 01/28/26 10:02 When staff approached kennel, Ally was jumping up and pushing herself off the walls in her kennel. When staff unlocked the kennel door to leash her, she stood up with her paws on the kennel door but stayed still which made her easy to leash. As soon as Ally was out of the kennel, she did a little nibble on staffs ankle and then walked with a moderate pull to the yard. In the play yard Ally sniffed her surroundings and then came up to staff for pets. Ally sat next to staff and solicited attention from them by pressing her body against staff and attempting to scratch her back on staffs leg. A dog entered the neighboring play yard and Ally switched to an upright posture and wagging tail and she just observed the other dog. The other dog began running and Ally started barking and running back and forth by the fence where the dog was. Staff called Ally over and she jumped into staffs lap and then climbed behind staff to sit on the bench. Ally walked with a moderate pull back to her kennel and was easy to unleash. RP

23-JAN-26 - INTERACT - 01/23/26 16:04 Today, I took Ally for a walk. She was easy to leash and ignored dogs that were barking as we passed their kennels. We went to the back play yard, where I gave Ally some chicken nuggets, which she enjoyed. Ally’s favorite treats include chicken nuggets, Pup-Peroni, and plain yogurt. I asked Ally to sit and rewarded her with a nugget each time; she took the treats very gently. Two PRC volunteers entered the yard, and Ally did not mind at all. I allowed her to roam the yard for a while, then we went for a walk around the back lot of PRC. Ally was returned to her kennel with no issues. -JR

23-JAN-26 - INTERACT - 01/23/26 09:130 On 1/22/26: I approached Ally’s kennel and was leashed without any issues. We walked past the other kennels, and Ally ignored the other dogs who were barking at her. We made our way to the back play yards, where she roamed around with a lose posture and wagging tail. Ally laid on her back and wiggled from side to side. When I sat on a bench, Ally approached and rested her head on my lap, seeking affection. She then jumped onto the bench and sat next to me, welcoming pets on her back and head. A volunteer with another dog entered another play yard and gave Ally treats. Ally would sit for treats and would take the treats from the volunteer gently. Ally was leashed again without any issues and walked back to her kennel, continuing to ignore the barking dogs. The slip lead was removed without any issues. -JR

21-JAN-26 - INTERACT - 01/21/26 16:45 Ally was on the outside of her kennel when staff had approached, jumping at the door of her kennel. Staff had used a treat to leash her as she also displayed some leash biting. On the way out to the yard, Ally had a moderate to strong pull on the leash. In the yard, she sniffed around for a bit and then sat by staff, soliciting attention. Staff offered her treats which she sat for and took gently. She watched passing staff with loose body posture and high wagging tail, also accepting pets and treats from them at the fence of the yard. On the way back to her kennel she maintained a moderate pull on the leash. Ally was easily returned and unleashed to her kennel. - CW

21-JAN-26 - EUTHANASIA - 01/21/26 13:26 **Final plea, COB 1/28/26. Not foster eligible.** Ally is showing severe signs of kennel stress and behavioral concerns in the home and shelter. Ally has been displaying kennel stress for months at the shelter, characterized by spinning, bouncing off the walls, painting feces, and pacing, resulting in self-harm. Ally has been given medication, extra enrichment, moved kennels, went on foster breaks out of the shelter, and has been in an office to help alleviate her stress, but her behaviors have continued. Ally has shown defensive behaviors to multiple staff in multiple different offices by lunging, growling, and snapping. She displayed the same behavior while in a foster home, as well as being highly stressed in the crate, and was returned due to safety concerns with the child in the home. PRC has exhausted their resources with Ally, and she will continue to decline as she stays at the shelter. Ally will need a home that can work with her on her defensive behaviors and provide a calm, stable environment, which the shelter cannot provide. If there is no commitment by COB 1/28/26, humane euthanasia will be authorized.

16-JAN-26 - INTERACT - 01/16/26 11:04 On 01/15/2026, I entered the Admissions Supervisors Office and was happily greeted by Ally with a wagging tail and loose, relaxed posture. I leashed her with a slip lead and walked her to the front play yards with no issues. Once in the yard, Ally got the zoomies, running around before flopping onto her back and wiggling from side to side. She often came over to me for attention and welcomed pets. After spending some time playing, I leashed Ally and brought her back to the Admissions Office. -JR

16-JAN-26 - BEHAVIOR - 01/16/26 06:21 Ally was in the shelter supervisor office and when I went to care for her she started barking with her hackles up when I slowly opened the door. I stood at the door and spoke to her calmly but she didn't stop, she went under the desk and was growling, I showed her the leash to see if that would help her want to come out but she lunged out from under the desk barking and then went back under. I ended the interaction and shut the door and let the supervisor know and she was going to take her out JEH

14-JAN-26 - BEHAVIOR - 01/14/26 09:18 DP entered the CS office and was greeted by Ally. DP offered Ally a treat, and Ally displayed a relaxed posture with a wagging tail. When DP approached my desk, he made a sudden movement to grab a pen. At that point, Ally jumped up and air-snapped toward his hand. On 01/12/26, WF entered the CS office and was greeted by Ally. While WF was filling out paperwork, Ally jumped up, grabbed WF’s jacket with her mouth, and then released it. There have been various PRC volunteers who have entered the office, and Ally has displayed a sweet and gentle demeanor toward them. Throughout the day, Ally lays on her bed and will occasionally get up to approach me, lick my hand, and display a wagging tail and loose posture. Ally observes dogs through the CS office window and does not show any interest towards them. I attempted to lure Ally into the office crate; however, she appeared shy and insecure around the crate-JR

09-JAN-26 - BEHAVIOR - 01/09/26 10:13 Ally has been hanging out in the Customer Service office and has been a great companion. She makes a wonderful office assistant, greeting everyone with a wagging tail and a relaxed, friendly vibe. Most days, Ally is happy to nap and just enjoy being near her people. She loves going for walks and gets excited as soon as she spots a leash. Treats are definitely the way to her heart; she’s always on the lookout for a Scooby snack, and if you have one, you’ve got a best friend. Ally usually comes over when she’s ready for pets. She can be a little shy at first, but she warms up quickly and is very sweet once she does. -JR

08-JAN-26 - OBSERVED - 01/08/26 10:23 Staff member TP walked into the CS supervisor’s office. Ally was lying on her side on her bed when TP got on one knee and was rubbing her side, shoulders and head. She was relaxed and calm. TP then stood up and started to talk to EF. TP then turned to leave the office and went to pet Ally on her head. As soon as he made contact Ally’s head, she air snapped at his hand but then redirected to his right leg baggy part of his jeans. I approached Ally and said no, to which she went back to lay down. Ally appeared to be over stimulated. She did not make contact to skin. EF

07-JAN-26 - INTERACT - 01/07/26 17:38 - Took Ally out on Adventure Tail to Eureka Springs; Ally stood for harnessing with loose body and tail wag, and was easy to gear up despite being a bit wiggly. She was loaded easily into the truck, jumping in on her own, and was quiet for the ride. She was similarly easy to unload from the truck, jumping out on her own. During the nature walk, Ally maintained an even gait, walking loose on lead, and approached every citizen she passed with loose body and wagging tail. She paused with tall posture, forward ears, and tail raised when she spotted several birds, pulling towards them somewhat, but was not difficult to redirect and did not react otherwise. During a conversation with a park employee, Ally remained social and soft. She sat for treats on command when posing for photos, which she took with a soft mouth, and was good for all handling. She was easy to load back into the truck and was quiet on the ride back. She was unloaded again without issue and walked back to her kennel with a loose leash. - LB
