02-APR-26 - Interact - 04/01/26 12:47 Penelope was waiting at the exterior of her kennel when approached by staff. She was easy to leash and walked with a hard pull on the way to the yard. No reactivity to passing kennels/dogs. Once in the yard she spent the first couple of minutes sniffing around. She then played with toys she found and would bring them over to staff to be thrown. She came when called and allowed pets all over. Loose body entire interaction. Penelope solicited attention from staff a lot and love scratches behind the ears. She did exhibit some exit searching so staff walked her through the back lot. Her heavy pull continued on the walk and she had to be harness wrapped. Easy kennel. - AH

28-MAR-26 - Interact - 03/26/26 per volunteer, Penelope was easy to leash and walked with a moderate to heavy pull to the parking lot. She allowed me to harness wrap her and she walked around the parking lot with a slight pull. Once in the yard she ran around with a toy and held it in her mouth. She leaned in for pets with a loose wiggly body and wagging tail. She greeted the dog in the neighboring yard with a loose body and ran up and down the fence doing play bows. She knows how to sit and takes treats gently. On the way back to her kennel she greeted a couple staff members with a loose body and leaned in for pets. She walked back to her kennel with a moderate pool and was easily unleashed.

25-MAR-26 - Interact - 03/25/26 10:40 Penelope was already at the kennel when staff approached. She had a loose body posture and was jumping with all four paws off the ground. She was easy to leash and walked with a mild pull. In the yard she ran around and continued to jump up and down with all four paws off the floor. She approached staff for pets and leaned on the legs. She allowed pets all over. She was easily returned back to her kennel and unleashed. -ZM

18-MAR-26 - Interact - 03/18/26 14:09 Citizen came to pick up Penelope for our Adventure Tails hiking event. Penelope was easy to leash and release from her kennel. She was well behaved in the car ride to the hiking trail with the citizen. Once she arrived at the hiking trail, Penelope did start with a mild pull, but did calm down eventually and became easy to walk. Penelope was very interested in coming to meet every citizen who arrived for the event, introducing herself and soliciting pets. Penelope loved to regularly stop to sniff the environment and take on all the new smells. During the hike, Penelope was very happy, being playful with her handler and the other citizens and maintaining a loose and wiggly body with happy facial expression. Penelope was easily returned to the shelter by car, and easily returned to her kennel and unleashed. -tp

11-MAR-26 - Interact - 3/4/26 Per volunteer: She was easy to leash, had a medium pull toward the yard. In the yard, she was fetching squeaky toys and running around for a bit. After a bit, she came over to me on the bench, sitting quietly near me and leaning in to be pet. If I stopped, she turned around and leaned in more. Her body was relaxed and her tail wagging.

11-MAR-26 - Observed - 03/11/26 16:02 Staff entered A kennel and walked up to Penelope's kennel. She walked up to staff with loose body language and a wagging tail. Penelope immediately began rubbing her body up against the gate for staff to pet. As staff was petting Penelope's side she brushed her head against the gate allowing for staff to pet her there as well. When staff stopped petting her she began whinnying and continued to brush her body against the gate. She then started jumping and pawing at the gate. When staff reached their hand out to pet her again Penelope calmed down and resumed brushing her body against the gate to receive pets. -JG

10-MAR-26 - Interact - 03/10/26 16:39 Adventure Tail: Penelope was taken out on a trip to Home Depot. She immediately jumped into the vehicle with ease and was very well behaved on the car ride to the location. Once getting out the car Penelope walked with a moderate pull inside. She sniffed around and headed in the direction of the garden. In the garden Penelope walked through the open aisles sniffing everything in her direction. Staff asked for Penelope to sit for a picture and she immediately sat, taking the treat gently from staffs hand when offered. Once exiting the garden and heading back inside her pace switched to a mild pull. Along the way a Home Depot employee stopped by for an interaction with Penelope. She leaned against his legs allowing pets all over with a wagging tail and loose body language. She calmly jumped on the employee earning a chuckle from him while he continued to pet her. Another employee walked by asking to pet her. Penelope walked up to him and leaned against his legs as well while he pet her back. A citizen came over asking to meet her and Penelope quickly walked over to receive pets all over. A different employee came and joined the group to show love to Penelope and gave her quick pets before leaving. While both staff members were engaged in conversation with everyone, Penelope laid down and rolled over exposing her stomach. Staff gave her a quick pet while the others watched in awe. Through out the rest of the interaction Penelope switched between receiving more pets and calmly laying down. After the group interaction Penelope walked around continuing to sniff everything and keeping her mild to no pull pace. Before leaving Home Depot another citizen stopped to pet her. Penelope allowed the back and head pets from him with loose body language. Once exiting the building Penelope stopped by a tree to relieve herself and carried on towards the car. Staff gave her water from a bowl which she accepted and got into the car with no issues. The ride back to PRC was the same as before with Penelope being well mannered in the car at all times. -JG and DW

06-MAR-26 - Foster - 03/06/26 14:55 - Adventure Tails with Penelope. Penelope rides in the car very well! Penelope initially decompressed at foster home. She is very well mannered, quiet and minds her own business. Afterward, we took a trip to Rivercrest Park on the Hillsborough River. She loved to see the water and hear the waves crash on the shore. She loves to walk and we walked and walked. Penelope has hard pull, requires harness. For a dog her age, she has boundless energy. Penelope did react toward a dog passing by my home. However, it should be noted that the passing dog is also very reactive, so no blame here! She is a good fit for someone who is physically active and needs a walking partner. mc

05-MAR-26 - Interact - 02/26/26 Penelope was easy to leash and walked without pull for the duration of our walk. In the yard her leashes were easily swapped. She spent most of her time slowly exploring the yard. She showed no interest in toys, but enjoyed treats and affection. She would come to me when called or whenever I sat down in the yard, and would roll over for belly rubs or scoot close and rest her head on my shoulder. She did not react to any passing dogs or strangers, but would approach the fence with soft wiggly body when known handlers approached the fence. NMS

05-MAR-26 - Interact - 03/05/26 17:44 was easy to leash and had a decent pull to play yard walking past multiple dogs on the way there with little reaction to anything. In play yard dog cruised around with toy in mouth and would solicit attention when called over after that dog tried to bury the toy unless called over. No problems returning to kennel LM

30-DEC-19 - ROUGH AND ROWDY - RR w/ Bolt, so left out to play w/ other RR dogs. Ace overreacted to proper play. Gave Dolly CPR but she was a little defensive. Sided and tried again with GD SO, still avoiding, but she seemed to have a mouth injury. Keeping RR, try again w/ Bolt when feeling better. First time out 12/30/19
