10-JUN-25 - Note - 06/10/25 16:41: Returned because not getting along with resident dog. Had great bahavior inside (this is verbatim what the notes say) She enjoys toys and treats. She was calm when the resident dog was not around. According to the adopters, when the two dogs were separated she behaved great, but when resident dog came around, they would be be aggressive towards each other.

20-MAY-25 - Foster - 05/20/25 14:43 Adventure Tail: We had a nice morning at armature works where Storm got lots of love and hugs. She LOVES her humans! She greeted a couple of strangers who walked up and pet her. (And actually when I dropped her off there was a young toddler sitting at the bench and she was very friendly and allowed the little toddler to pet her with no issues). During our outing, she was definitely dog curious but I kept our distance and she was easy to control. Although she got excited, she didn’t drag me over to the other dogs and I could control her pretty well. Storm was very easy to walk. Storm also liked to lay down for belly rubs and just chilling. She rolled around in the grass when we got to the park area and she enjoyed people watching. During the car ride she listened when I told her to get back when she tried to ride in the front of the jeep. She went right back to the back and she enjoyed poking her head out of the window. I took her to my house for a bit and gave her a bath. She just stood still and let me wash her. Afterwards, she was happily doing zoomies all over the house. When I towel dried her, she was so playful and wanted to play tug with the towel instead of letting me dry her. It was so cute. But to teach her that the towel was not a play toy and not something we couldn’t play tug with, I grabbed a ball and distracted her with that. She chased it happily and was very playful. She loved playing with the ball and then because it was so hot out, we just hang out on the front porch where she took a nice long power nap. Storm is happy playing or chilling and takes her queues well from her handler. She got right up on me with a big smile and totally enjoyed all of her belly rubs and leg massages that I gave her.

15-MAY-25 - Interact - 05/15/25 16:07 Per volunteer: She was easy to remove from the kennel and walk to the play yard. Storm was not reactive to any of the dogs along the way. She played with squeaky toys and takes treats gently. She had a very calm demeanor. I sat on the ground and she stayed close by for pets and to get brushed. Easy to return to the kennel.

06-MAY-25 - Behavior - 05/06/25 15:58 Storm was easy to leash and walk out of kennel, walked with a heavy pull to the play yards. Once in yard, explored and quickly engaged in self play with soft squeaky toys. Engaged with DJ for fetch with toy swap, but no interest in toys other than soft squeaky. After a while, came over to where DJ was seated and accepted pets from head to tail. Walked back to kennel with a slight pull on leash, noticably less after playing. Returned to kennel easily. -DJ

05-MAY-25 - Medical - RE: HEARTWORM TREATMENT: This dog was diagnosed as heartworm positive after arrival at PRC. Per protocol, the pet completed 30 days of doxycycline and a 30 day rest period. Their time at the shelter has surpassed 60 days since diagnosis, meaning this dog is eligible for heartworm treatment through PRC at no cost to the adopter. Once adopted, treatment may be completed the day of adoption with pick-up the following day OR be scheduled for a future date. Alternatively, adopters may pursue heartworm treatment with their primary veterinarian. *All dogs that test positive for heartworm disease are eligible for treatment, unless otherwise indicated. Treatment must take place within 12 months of doxycycline completion. All dogs must stay current on heartworm prevention while awaiting treatment.*

23-APR-25 - Interact - 4/22/25 Per volunteer: Storm had a hard pull to the garden. She alternated between self play with a stuffy and fetching a tennis ball. She stayed close and welcomed head to tail petting. She'd take treats but didn't eat most.

18-APR-25 - Behavior - 04/18/25 Storm was easy to leash and walked with a heavy pull. She sniffed around then solicited attention often. Storm allowed petting all over. She sat for treats and took them gently but spit them out (milkbones). Storm chased toys and played light tug. She preferred a stuffed squeaky toy and spent several minutes entertaining herself by throwing the toy around, carrying it, and jumping around with it. She walked back with a mild pull and politely greeted her neighbor before entering her kennel. Leash easily removed. -CR
