26-MAY-25 - Interact - 05/26/25 11:26 Madeline lays down inside whenever there are no staff or citizens around. When staff walks past the cage she stands with tail wagging. I monitored as two groups of citizens walked past the kennel and madeline continued to just stan at the gate with tail wagging. - NS

23-MAY-25 - Behavior - 05/23/25 15:00 Madeline was easy to clip a leash to her harness in the kennel. She pulled towards the other dogs on the way to the yard. Madeline had loose posture in the yard and played with toys a little. She had some interest in the splash pad. Madeline was very focused on the hose and would chase the water around the yard. She jumped up and bit the spray close to the hose end and staffs hand many times. She was easy to return and unleash. -CR

20-MAY-25 - Interact - 5/19/25 Per volunteer: Madeline had a slight pull on the leash until away from the other dogs in the kennel area. She sniffed around in the garden but didn't show any interest in toys. Madeline paused for water and for pets. We walked in the parking lot, where she showed some interest in the cats. She walked easily back to the kennel without pulling.

12-MAY-25 - Interact - 05/12/25 15:21 - Madeline greeted staff at the kennel door with a loose body and wagging tail. Allowed elashing with slip lead and then waited patiently while staff attatched clip leash to her harness. She walked with a hard pull only when reacting to dogs barking at her from kennel. At times she would try to steer towards them, but was easily kept close to staff. In yard she was a dream having a loose body and wagging tail solicitng attention off and on from staff. Madeline fixated on neighboring staff member and dog at times running up and down fence line with other dog. She was redirected by staff each time and conitnued to solicit attention even sitting in staffs lap. Unleashign was uneventful, was able to undo clip leash in kennel without her trying to push her way back out of kennel. She went inside and drank water. MC

12-MAY-25 - Interact - 5/9/25 Per volunteer: Madeline was easy to leash and she walked with a slight pull and showing no interest in the other dogs. She ran into the yard and picked up a couple of the fluffy toys. She allowed for all pets from head to tail. Madeline was most interested in playing in the hose and in the splash pad. She spent a great deal of her time chasing water from the hose and every time I turned it off, she would stand by the faucet watching to see if I would turn it on again. A dog was in the adjoining yard and she ran the fence with him a couple times. She accepted treats gently. She was easy to return to and unleash in her kennel.

24-APR-25 - Interact - 04/24/25 15:02 Per volunteer: Madeline was easy to leash and she walked with a light pull along the way to the yard. We avoided walking by any dogs. Out in the yard, Madeline most enjoyed running through and jumping at the water from the hose. She allowed for all pets from head to tail and often. She played with a few toys. She knows how to sit for and take treats gently. She was a good listener and always came when called. She was easy to return to her kennel.

16-APR-25 - Foster - 04/16/25 15:41 Adventure Tail: Madeline was timid upon pick up. Getting in my car was no problem at all. She rode very very well. She laid down in the backseat and almost fell asleep. Upon arrival of the park, she became more alert and sat up walking with no pull on the leash and sniffing everything. When she relieved herself, she kicks back dirt, so be aware, but it’s very cute! Then brought her home and she loves to look out a window and she loves little stuffies. She responds very well to no and to come. I really hope she finds the right home as she is perfect! mw

14-APR-25 - Behavior - 04/14/25 12:19 Playstyle and sociability changed from Push Pull/Selective to SOLO. Madeline displayed assertive behaviors with the first dog she greeted in the yard leading to an uninterruptable altercation.

13-APR-25 - Interact - 04/12/25 Per volunteer: Madeline was easy to leash and she walked very well to the play yard with just a slight pull and ignoring other dogs along the way. Madeline spent quite a bit of her time exploring in both the yard and the garden. She was a good listener and came every time as we moved between the yard and the garden. Madeline was friendly and allowed for all pets from head to tail. Back in the yard, Madeline spent a few minutes playing in the hose. She was easy to return to her kennel.

10-APR-25 - Interact - 04/10/25 15:39 Madeline was much easier to leash compared to the previous day when she was in Bravo (Apr 9, 2025). She did not perform any door ramming today, and jumped significantly less so. Madeline had a moderate pull on the leash during walks. She also showed reactivity to other dogs, especially towards Oracle during the return trip (B08). In the yard, she mostly kept to herself sniffing and roaming. She demonstrated a preference for squeeky toys. She also showed potentially possessive behavior with toys. Madeline would snap or lunge at staff's hand whenever toys were handled. -KR-

08-APR-25 - Observed - 04/08/25 10:00 Madeline was barking at the front of the kennel at staff. She then started jumping and flipping off the kennel wall, causing her neighbor to react and continue the cycle. -CR

03-APR-25 - Interact - 4/1/25 Per volunteer: Madeline sat for leashing and did not pull at all. She walked to the yard with a loose leash and sat when I asked her to sit to switch leashes. She was leaning into me and resting her body against me when I petter her. She was very relaxed and stayed close for more attention and love. She was also chasing after the plush toys and then doing zoomies with them. She sat and took treats gently.

Pet profiles are updated every thirty minutes with the pet's status updated every fifteen minutes, seven days a week. Watch the ADOPT Tutorial Video for navigation help.

Certain pets in the care of Pet Resources and/or their records may not be available for adoption or release pending a determination of ownership rights and/or legal consent, such as during stray hold times or active abuse investigations. Please be advised that the County will maintain copies of all medical records produced while the pet was in the County’s care and custody and may release them to the public, if requested.
