Comment: 22-JUN-25 - Interact - 06/18/25 Per volunteer: Plex was easy to leash and walked to the yard with a heave pull. In the yard, he had loose body posture and solicited for attention. He played with toys and prefers toys that make noise. He is a little rough when playing and taking treats. Plex was easy to return to the kennel.
Comment: 23-MAY-25 - Behavior - 05/23/25 15:00 Plex was easy to leash and walk to and from the yard. He immediately went for the toys in the yard and played with every one. He would sometimes try to snatch toys from hands. Plex would take treats but was more interested in toys. He did not slow down for pets but had loose posture the entire interaction. Plex was easy to unleash in the kennel. -CR
Comment: 20-MAY-25 - Interact - 05/20/25 Per volunteer: Plex was easy to leash, but started jumping outside kennel due to his barking neighbor. He settled down and walked to yard with mild pull. Plex immediately ran to toys and brought tthem to me and encouraged me to throw them. He had a rough mouth with the toys, so he would leave toys on bench by me. He can sit and stay on request and enjoys pets and attention. Plex was easy to walk back and unleash in kennel.
Comment: 02-MAY-25 - Interact - 05/02/25 15:02 Per volunteer: Plex was easy to leash and he came out with a moderate pull, ignoring other dogs along the way to the yard. Plex chased after and returned with every toy I threw. He enticed me into several games of tug. He allowed for all pets from head to tail, but was more interested in me playing with him. Plex knows how to sit for and accept treats gently (if the expectation is set). He climbed into the pool a couple of times. He was easy to return to and unleash in his kennel.
Comment: 01-MAY-25 - Behavior - 05/01/25 16:30 Plex was leashed easily with the leash low. He walked with a mild-heavy pull. He maintained loose posture throughout the interaction. Plex immediately went to the toys in the yard. He chased after and played with a tennis ball, stuffed squeaky toys, and a hard toy. He would bring the toy back and play with it near CR. When he dropped it, he let CR pick it up to throw again. Plex was more interested in play when CR was walking around and would not approach when called but he allowed petting all over with wagging tail when CR approached him. He would come over when CR sat on the bench and solicited pets. He sat for treats and took them gently. Plex walked back with little to no pull and was easily unleashed. -CR
Comment: 18-APR-25 - Interact - 4/16/25 Per volunteer: He was excited to come out to play and once in the yard, he immediately picked up a toy (a ball with a "tail") and started playing; tossing it in the air, catching it and running around. He then brought it to me and we fetched. He also liked being petted and talked to. He had a relaxed body while we interacted. He was also very gentle with treats.
Comment: 11-APR-25 - Interact - 4/10/25 Per volunteer: Plex pulled the leash with lots of energy on the way to the garden. He chased a ball and squeaky toy that were thrown, and brought them back for treats. He ran around and sniffed at the plants, then returned for more play with the toys and treats. Plex accepted pets but didn't seek them.
Comment: 02-APR-25 - Interact - Plex greeted staff at the kennel door with a loose body and was jumping at gate. Staff distracted Plex with a treat and was able to leash him with no issues. He walked with a strong pull to the AD yards. In the yard he played fetch with staff and ran around with his toy in his mouth. Seems to really like squeaky toys and will run around squeaking them. He knows “sit” and can catch treats. He walked well back to his kennel and was easy to return. BP
Comment: 26-MAR-25 - Interact - 03/26/25 17:19 Plex greeted staff member at kennel gate with loose body posture. Was able to leash and remove from kennel without any issues. Observed that Plex pulls hard on leash when walked. Upon entering the yard, Plex cruised around and played with the toys in the yard. Observed that Plex becomes jumpy when he gets excited. He allowed all petting and handling from the staff in the yard. Was able to place back into kennel without any issues. MS
Comment: 26-FEB-25 - Interact - 02/26/25 17:28 - Plex was taken out by staff to a play yard. He was no issues leashing in the kennel and walked with a pull on the leash to the yard. In the yard he solicited attention from staff and took treats from them gently. He was a little bit jumpy but did take corrections. He walked well back to his kennel and was no issues to unleash. BP
Comment: 01-FEB-25 - Behavior - 02/01/25 16:13 Volunteer was able to leash Plex from the kennel and brought him out to play groups. Volunteer was able to put a collar on Plex. After play group, Plex was able to be returned to the kennel without any issues.
Comment: 31-JAN-25 - Behavior - 01/31/25 14:16 Pet was at gate upon approach and took treats easily. Initially avoided leash loop, ducking away, but was easily directed through the loop with a treat. Walked out of kennel, loose body walking past other kennels, curious to sniff at gates. Greeted ACA passing with a loose tail wag and hand sniff. Once in yard, explored and easily came to DJ when called and elicited pets and jumped up and kissed face. While in yard, with foot on clip leash to stay near DJ, used treats to reward each time he allowed leash to loop over head, with no avoidance on third time. Walked back to kennel and removed leash with no issue. -DJ
Comment: 30-JAN-25 - Behavior - 01/29/25 JS was able to leash Plex after throwing a few treats and taking it slow. JS tried to put a collar on Plex but he did not allow it. JS was able to interact with Plex in the yard. Plex allowed handling and petting. Plex gets more nervous and bit defensive when it comes to objects going over his head such as slip leashes and collars. no issues returning.
Comment: 30-JAN-25 - Behavior - 01/30/25 13:50 Pet was at kennel upon approach, took treat easily. Barked when handler showed hand without a treat, but then softened again when spoken to and given treats. Able to leash easily using treat to guide head through leash loop and pet walked out and to play yard. Pet walked loose on leash to and from yard. Once in yard, pet came over to handler for attention and sat, handler was able to place and adjust collar. Pet explored they yard and while handler was kneeling down cleaning up yard, pet came over and whined then play bowed and zoomed around yard. Pet continued play like this with handler low to ground and then ended play sitting next to and leaning into handler. Handler swapped leashes to return to kennel, pet again ducked head to initially avoid loop leash but was fine with second attempt. Returned to kennel and removed leash without issue. -DJ
Comment: 28-JAN-25 - Interact - patient would not allow staff to leash to take out of kennel. Patient would bark with slight grawl while backing away.
