29-JUL-25 - Behavior - 07/29/25 16:48 Bubba was easy to leash and walked with a pull so CR did "stop and go" with him, which he responded to unless he saw lizards, then he pulled heavily. In the yard, he had loose posture and ran around. He solicited quick pets. Bubba chased toys that were thrown and would play with them briefly. He allowed CR to approach him and pet him on the back while he had toys in his mouth. Bubba would come over and grab toys near CRs feet and would sometimes jump and try to take them from hand. JS entered the yard and tried to engage Bubba in tug but he settled on a hard toy instead and carried it around. Bubba spent the rest of the time tearing up the toy. He gave no reaction when CR used the scooper to pick up pieces around him. After some time, CR leashed him with distance and removed the clip leash from behind his head while he carried the rest of the toy. He carried it back to the kennel and was unleashed without issue while he had the toy in his mouth. -CR

23-JUL-25 - Interact - 07/23/25 11:26 Bubbaque approached the kennel door with loose body and wagging tail. He was easy to leash. Bubbaque walked with a strong and constant pull. He exhibited no reactivity when passing other kennels. Bubbaque enjoyed playing with plush toys, but he destroyed them immediately. He would also become possessive with the damaged toys. When staff attempted to clean up the plush filling, Bubbaque jumped and lunged at staff. Bubbaque sought out some attention, but mostly kept to himself. He did respond when called, and did not appear to understand any commands. Bubbaque did not show any interest in treats either. He was returned to his kennel without any issues. -KR-

21-JUL-25 - Foster - 07/18/25 13:16 Bubba was excited to get into car, and climbed right in. Once he cooled off in car he layed down in car and relaxed during hour car ride. We walked around park where he was excited to walk, bubba had a hard pull at first but once he went potty he pulled less. We walked past reactive dogs without issue. We met up with female freind at part, bubba had no issues and allowed all petting from female stranger. Once home we got home Bubba climbed up on the couch and snuggled, he believed himself a lap dog. Overnight he was placed in crate, for the first 20 minutes he was uneasy. After 20 mintues in a crate he peacefully slept in his bed for most of the night except once he tried to get out of kennel. He did not have any accidents overnight in crate. In the morning we ran around the yard playing with soccer balls. When it was time to go back to the shelter, he climbed back into the car and layed down. SAW

19-JUL-25 - Interact - 07/19/25 13:01 Bubba came to the gate to greet staff. He was easy to leash. He had a very strong pull on the way to the yard. In the yard, Bubba ran around. He chased toys and played tug o war with a rope toy. After playing a while Bubba jumped in the pool and approached staff for pets. He had no issues returning to the kennel. - NS

01-JUL-25 - Interact - 6/26/25 Per volunteer: Bubbaque was easy to leash, walking with a strong pull to the garden. He chased toys and played fetch, including going into the garden pool to retrieve toys. He took long runs in the yard and played in the plants. He stopped for pets between runs and after chasing toys. He was gentle with treats. He came up after a time to get pets and sit on the ground at my feet. He walked well, with less pulling going back to his kennel.

18-JUN-25 - Interact - 06/16/25 Per volunteer: He pulled hard on the leash on the way to the garden, taking off very fast as soon as he was leashed and released from his kennel. Once in the garden, he ran around at full speed and chased a few toys. He returned with the toys but didn't give them back, instead building a small pile of toys in one spot. He sat for pets occasionally and waded into the pond when he got hot, but mostly he kept moving around and chasing toys. He pulled again on the way back to the kennel.

16-JUN-25 - Interact - As ACA staff approached the kennel Bubbaque was laying down on the inside of his kennel. When ACA staff called Bubbaque's name he came to the outside of his kennel calmly, he did not bark or jump. He accepted treats from ACA staff member and took them out of the staff members hand nicely as well.

11-JUN-25 - Interact - 06/11/25 When approaching kennel Bubbaque immidiately solicited attention. Three staff members attempted to approach the kennel (Two females, and one male) and Bubbaque greeted all with raised ears and tail wags. During this time a volonteer passed by the kennel with an additonal dog and he did not react or pay any attention to the additional dog. AR

03-JUN-25 - Interact - 6/2/25 Per volunteer: Bubbaque pulled hard on the way to the garden. Once there, he ran full speed around the perimeter and up and down the fence line on the side that bordered another play yard. He was very friendly with the dog on the other side of the fence, touching noses and jumping on the fence to say hello. He chased a tennis ball but didn't return it. He spent the rest of the play time chewing on the ball and accepting pets, occasionally taking the ball for a walk or dunking it in the water dish. He pulled again on the way back to the kennel.

06-MAY-25 - Interact - 5/5/25 Per volunteer: Had to harness Bubbaque in order to manage his hard pulling on the way to the garden. Once in the garden, he ran a few laps and sniffed lots of plants, chased a few toys and played fetch with a ball until he became hot and tired. He went into the pond to cool off, then sat and leaned in for pets. Used the harness technique again on the way back to the kennel, due to his hard pulling on the leash.

06-MAY-25 - Observed - 05/06/25 15:00 Bubbaque was observed barking and lunging at the front of the kennel towards an animal control officer walking by. He barked at CR while standing close by and observing. When CR approached, he loosened up and stopped barking. When walking away, he continued barking. -CR

Pet profiles are updated every thirty minutes with the pet's status updated every fifteen minutes, seven days a week. Watch the ADOPT Tutorial Video for navigation help.

Certain pets in the care of Pet Resources and/or their records may not be available for adoption or release pending a determination of ownership rights and/or legal consent, such as during stray hold times or active abuse investigations. Please be advised that the County will maintain copies of all medical records produced while the pet was in the County’s care and custody and may release them to the public, if requested.
