01-JUL-25 - Foster - 07/01/25 09:30 Foster feedback: Hi! My weekend stay with Bashful was great! She had no issues with walking or pulling, I gave her a bath and she sat still and let me bathe her. She was wonderful with my toddler, played and followed her wherever she went. The only thing I noticed was her reaction towards men coming up to her, she barked and her back spiked up. But around all the females she was great. Extremely alert, noticed every little movement or sound. Did great on our walk passing people and their dogs, I couldn’t tell if she wanted to play when she would lay flat on her tummy whenever a dog walked passed us. Was great in the car, potty trained, lots of energy as she got the zoomies a few times, overall a great weekend stay.

01-JUL-25 - Interact - 6/26/25 Per volunteer: Bashful was easily leashed, walking with a moderate pull to the yard, while ignoring dogs. She explored on her own until I called to her and clapped my hands. She ran over for pets, getting more playful when I knelt down. She enjoyed pets all over between a couple zoomie runs of the yard. She walked with a mild pull to the garden; where she played in the tall plants and sat with me for more pets. She was friendly and playful with a dog through the fence. She walked well back to her kennel.

26-JUN-25 - Interact - 6/25/25 Per volunteer: Upon approach, Bashful became a little excited, becoming vocal and jumping at her kennel door. However, when leashing, Bashful calmed down and was very easy to leash. On the way to the play yard, Bashful had a hard pull and would pull toward dogs in other kennels but was able to be redirected. Once in the play yard, Bashful was uninterested in toys and treats. Instead, she sniffed and walked around the yard. Shortly after, a dog (Josh) came into the neighboring yard. Bashful was interested and the two sniffed through the gate. They then started to run together up and down the yard and were playful with one another. After Josh left, Bashful allowed me to pet her on her back and she was returned easily with less pull, and less interest in other dogs.

20-JUN-25 - Interact - 06/20/25 09:58 Bashful didnt want to go outside during morning cleaning, she stood at the inside door and would get excited when I passed by so I opened the door and she leashed easily. She walked without pulling and we went for a short walk around the shelter. She did not react to any of the dogs and walked right next to me. Once we were done I walked her to the outside portion, while I was unlocking the lock she sniffed the dog next to her and was calm and loose during the brief interaction. She walked into the kennel and unleashed without any issues. JEH

25-MAY-25 - Interact - 05/23/25 Per volunteer: She insisted on watching other dogs at the gate of the yard, so we went for a walk. She had a moderate pull and explored with lots of sniffing. She kept an eye towards the play group yard throughout our walk.

30-APR-25 - Interact - 04/30/25 17:17 - Bashful greeted staff at the kennel dorky with a loose body and allowed leash to be placed with no issues. She walked with a hard pull on the leash to the AD yard. In the yard she sniffed around for a bit before coming over and soliciting attention. She jumped right up onto the bench with staff for attention and allowed staff to pet her all over. She did play with the toys for a few minutes when they were thrown but left them pretty quickly. She was no issues returning to her kennel. BP

29-APR-25 - Interact - 04/29/25 Per volunteer: Super easy to leash. Went to the yard with a heavy pull, super excited to be out of the kennel. Immediately pooped once in yard, was not interested in treats or toys. More interested in the dog two play yards over, almost fixated with the dog. Then got super excited and started to run around the whole yard. Still not taking treats or toys, just more interested in what the dog in the other yard was doing, she tried her best to get through the gate. Finally took a drink from the pool very cautiously. Started to do zoomies and was having a good time. Took her some time but came over to me to solicit pets. She seemed happy with scratching her back.

24-APR-25 - Foster - 04/24/25 09:35 Foster Note: Bashfull did great on her adventure tail and was extended to an overnight! Mild to moderate pull on leash when excited. Interested in other people but appears uncertain when approaching. Allows petting and sniffs hands/legs when in proximity, shows mild interest. Appears interested in other dogs from afar but becomes tense when approaching and and is reactive to larger dogs. Rough/rowdy when playing both with humans and other dogs. Potty trained well and demonstrates sit, paw, and occasionally stay, treat motivated. Enjoys smelling and exploring surroundings when outside but not too interested in toys unless inside with less stimuli. Doesn't always respond to name when in high stimulus environments likely due to distractions. Occasional crying/whimpering when left alone. mw

23-APR-25 - Interact - 4/22/25 Per volunteer: Bashfull was a little hesitant when I arrived at the kennel but after some coaxing, she walked right up to the door and leashed fine. She was interested in the other dogs on the walk to the play yard and tried to approach but redirection was easy even with her mild pull. She started to pass out from pulling on the leash but recovered quickly. Once in the play yard, she was very interested in what was going on outside the play yard. She would sit and shake on command but had no interest in the treats or toys. She had loose posture with me and engaged in short durations, as she was mostly interested in what was going on outside the play yard. The walk around the parking lot went well with just mild pull and the trip back to the kennel and unleash were fine. She had no interest in the other dogs on the way back.

16-APR-25 - Interact - 04/15/25 Per volunteer: Bashful was much more confident than in the past. She was excited to come out and headed straight to the yard. She played fetch with me with the tennis balls for a little bit but then was content to sit for petting. She was very gentle with treats and easy to return to her kennel.
