15-JUL-25 - Interact - 7/9/25 Per volunteer: Cletus was easily leashed but showed a lot of excitement. He had a moderate pull on the way to the photoshoot and would sometimes have bursts of energy and would pull heavier on the leash. When we entered the photo room, he was very excited and his whole body was wagging. He immediately directed to the treats on the floor and began to eat those. His leash was removed, and he explored the room for a few seconds before being redirected with treats and a squeaker toy for his photo. He sat, paw lifted, and looked straight into the camera. He then got his pictures taken faster than any of the other dogs that day, before running off with excitement. He was then returned to his kennel, having about the same pull as before.

02-JUL-25 - Interact - 6/30/25 Per volunteer: He went to the garden with a medium pull, then got the zoomies, ran in circles at full speed and chased toys that were thrown for him. After chasing several toys, he rolled in the grass and mud for several minutes. He was friendly with a dog in the adjacent yard, touching noses and giving play bows. He pulled again on the way back to the kennel, but not quite as much.

30-JUN-25 - Interact - 6/24/25 Per volunteer: He was easy to leash and unleash and had a medium pull to and from the play yard. He had zoomies as soon as we entered the yard while picking up and playing with toys as he ran. Cletus played fetch. Intermittently he would sniff around the play yard. He had a loose body and wagging tail and a relaxed face the whole time we were out. He tends to be jumpy when excited. Easy to unleash.

18-JUN-25 - Interact - 06/16/25 Per volunteer: Cletus pulled slightly on the leash on the way to the garden, then ran full speed around the garden and ran back and forth along the fence, playing with a dog in the adjacent yard. He chased a few toys but didn't return them, then went over to the water dish to rest. He accepted pets and wagged but didn't solicit them. He found a cool spot to dig a hole and sit for a few minutes. At the end of the play time, he was easy to leash and had only a slight pull on the way back to the kennel.

12-JUN-25 - Interact - 06/12/25 11:26: PER VOLUNTEER 06/10/25: Cletus was easy to leash, walking with a mild pull to the yard, ignoring dogs on the way. He began playing the moment he entered the yard. He grabbed a toy and began running around tossing it high in the air and catching it. The volunteer played fetch with him having him drop the toy and gently taking a treat. He responds well to commands in training and will sit to wait for toys to be thrown during play when prompted. He reluctantly took breaks with the volunteer in the shade due to the heat; but quickly gained interest in playing again. He enjoyed pets all over, giving and receiving affection. He walked well back to his kennel.

30-MAY-25 - Foster - 05/30/25 13:18 Adventure Tail: Cletus did great in the car! I take the dogs back to my apartment complex where there are lots of dog lovers where 3-4 people approach and ask to pet him. Cletus loved the attention and had great body language and his tail was wagging. Pretty good on a leash, occasionally pulls but he is a big boy. We made several loops of the complex with multiple stops in the clubhouse where he immediately did a sploot. Cletus wanted me to pet his belly and he was very appreciative of my efforts. I got kisses from him multiple times. He is a great pup and hopefully someone comes and adopts him soon! mw

19-MAY-25 - Interact - 5/17/25 Per volunteer: Cletus was calm when I leashed him but he did pull a little on the way to the yard. In the yard, he was relaxed, sniffing around and exploring the whole area. He did play a little, fetching soft toys once or twice. Cletus came over for attention periodically and relaxed his body into petting and ear scratches. He was gentle with treats. Cletus will come when called and will sit for treats. He was very easy-going and very easy to return to his kennel.

07-MAY-25 - Interact - 05/07/25 15:21 Cletus was standing at the door with a relaxed demeanor when staff came up to his kennel. He was easy to leash but immediately darted out of his kennel. Cletus has a strong pull and did not react to any dogs while walking by kennels. In the yard, Cletus showed some interest in toys but spent most of his time roaming around solo. 01-MAY-25 - Interact - Pt was easy to leash, excited at front of kennel. Pulled on the leash during walk, very excitable when passing people and dogs, difficult to get on scale, uses weight to his advantage. Very resistant to get on scale but very happy and playful about it. Will jump up on people passing by. Pulled on the way back to kennel, easy to unleash in kennel. AC
