Animal comment
Molly needs time with people since she can be nervous, and she is dog tolerant at the shelter. Molly does allow petting but slowly, at her pace. Molly loves his treats but it has to be put on the ground not by hand. She can be fearful of loud noises. .

13-AUG-25 - Interact - 08/13/25 15:16 Molly was laying in kennel on first approach this morning, and allowed leashing, but pancaked immediately outside kennel and refused to move, she was returned to kennel, and after working with other dogs staff returned an hour later. Molly was again laying in kennel, wagging tail, she allowed leashing, and stood and walked on her own, she walked anxiously through doorways, but made her way to the yard under her own power. Once in the yard, Molly stayed close to staff, alternating between sitting next to staff or on staff's feet, and walking in a small circle around staff sniffing at the grass. She was easy to leash and returned to the kennel under her own power. -GB

12-AUG-25 - Interact - 8/11/25 Per volunteer: Molly was easy to leash. She walked well beside me to the yard. Once inside, she sniffed and explored the yard. She gently took a few treats and came up for pets a few times. I sat down on the ground and Molly came over to lay near me, resting her head on my leg and getting pets. When I got up, she walked around the yard with me more, getting pets and treats. She walked well beside me back to her kennel.

11-AUG-25 - Interact - 08/11/25 13:36 Molly had a meet and greet with a male citizen. She was laying outside of her kennel, staff tried to leash but she was a bit hesitant, she did try to walk forward and staff managed to leash her. She walked for a few steps until she quickly laid on the floor, staff tugged on the leash to make her walk but she was firm on the ground tail tucked. Staff had to carry her and she allowed being carried. Once in the yard she approached citizen, tail tucked and a bit tense. She allowed citizen to pet her on her head and body. After a few minutes she went and relieved herself. She sniffed for few seconds after she saw staff get up then she quickly had her tail tucked again. She would approach citizen again and laid right in front of them accepting pets. When staff went to the exit of the yard she quickly followed. Walking back she walked well, tail slightly tucked and hesitantly walking. -AR

30-JUL-25 - Interact - 07/30/25 Molly was able to be walked to playgroup by a volunteer. When it was time to leave the yard, she was avoidant of leashing and cowered away when she finally allowed approach. She walked slowly back until about 5 ft from her kennel then she would not move. She had to be carried the rest of the way. -CR

30-JUL-25 - Interact - 7/28/25 Per volunteer: Molly came to the outside and was easily leashed. She walked to the back well with a couple mild hesitations. She wandered the yard, coming by for short pets a couple of times. She watched a dog in a nearby yard with a wagging tail; then went to the fence to be close as he was leaving. She sat well for treats; then spent the majority of our time getting pets as I knelt by her. She walked calmly beside me back to her kennel.

06-JUL-25 - Foster - 07/06/25 13:39 Foster note: Molly is a sweet, gentle soul who’s had a tough start and is slowly learning how to trust. She can be a little timid and easily startled by sounds and sudden movements — but with patience, she’s starting to come out of her shell. She has shown no aggression at all, even when other dogs are playful or pushy, and she’s incredibly tolerant and soft-natured. Molly takes comfort in being around other dogs and really opens up when they’re near — they give her the courage to explore and even come to her humans. She’s very sweet, loves curling up on the couch, and enjoys quiet companionship. I have not observed any resource guarding; she doesnt seem to mind sharing food and space with other dogs. With the right environment, Molly will make a deeply loyal and loving companion.

14-JUN-25 - Foster - 06/14/25 17:45 Adventure tail: Molly was a great rider from the start and throughout our Adventure Tail day out, quietly enjoying looking out the window with curiosity. Our first stop was Lettuce Lake Park. She walked nervously with start-stop movements, slowly improving. We stayed on a path near the road. When she became too overwhelmed and laid down, we brought the car around and lifted her in, ending the walk. We drove to lunch at an Irish Pub with an indoor pet-friendly area with AC. Molly jumped out of the car and walked well through the restaurant beside us to the table. She calmly enjoyed a yummy meal; then laid down to rest as we finished our meal. She was relaxed and curious as she watched multiple people walking past her or talking around her. She walked confidently out of the pub and jumped into the car for the ride back to our house. We secured our pets and brought her to the patio/pool area. She was calm and friendly, engaging our pets through the sliding glass door. She explored around the pool area; eventually going in. She swam across the pool to sit with us. She proved to be an excellent swimmer and was calm and affectionate sitting in the pool with us getting pets. After relaxing in the pool, we dried her off. She loves being towel dried! She explored the house; then relaxed in a dog bed with a big sigh. Later she came out to lay beside me getting pets as I checked computer messages. Finally, we brought her to lay on the couch between us, where she slept deeply, taking turns placing her head on each of our laps, getting gentle pets. She rode quietly back to the PRC, resting her head between us from the back, getting occasional pets. She never barked or showed any negative reactions to people or pets during our day together. She is a very loving and gentle young dog and will become a faithful, loving companion to the lucky person who has the patience to help her come out of her shell.

11-JUN-25 - Interact - 05/12/25 13:11: PER VOLUNTEER 05/12/25: Molly (A2440084) was easy to leash from the inside, walking close beside me at a slow pace to the back play yard. She saw a loose dog nearby and stayed calmly by me as the dog was leashed. She quietly explored the yard; then came up to me for pets as I knelt down. We walked around the yard; then to the garden. She walked around, not getting too far from me. She stood calmly getting pets all over. We ended with a walk in the lot; where she stayed close and was easy to return to her kennel.
