01-APR-26 - Interact - 04/01/26 09:36 Arnold was bouncing on the walls side-to-side and high jumping when staff approached. When treats were tossed on the ground, he showed interest in those. However, as soon as the door was opened, Arnold rushed and muzzle punched the opening. Arnold walked with a strong pull and demonstrated significant reactivity. He walked sideways while staring, barking, and lunging at every kennel he passed. In the yard, Arnold zoomed around for a bit before jumping and nipping at staff. Any attempts to distract him with tossed treats were unsuccessful. Arnold was taken back to his kennel once brought under control. -KR-

31-MAR-26 - Observed - 03/31/26 10:37 Frequently observed jumping up kennel walls all for paws off the ground. Bounces back and forth between walls while barking. Observed during different times of day with varying traffic levels. Behavior is most severe when citizens stop at neighboring kennels. When dogs pass Arnold low barks and lunges toward the bottom of his kennel door. -NMS

28-MAR-26 - Interact - 03/26/26 per volunteer, Arnold is a jumper, high jumper. Took a minute to leash. Arnold played with squeaky toys and he jumped in the pool. Once he knows where the treat pocket is he is wanting more! Pulled back to kennel and barked and pulled toward kennels

25-MAR-26 - Interact - 03/25/26 16:33-Arnold was jumping up on sides of the kennel when staff approached. Once shown leash, he began to calm down and allowed leashing. He came out of the kennel with a heavy pull on the leash and began to veer towards the other neighboring dogs. Once away from the kennels, he started to walk better on the leash. Enjoyed running around in the sensory garden and rolled around in the kiddy pool. He seems to understand "sit" when offered treats. He seems to take treats better when given with an open palm. No issues noted on return to kennel. MS

20-MAR-26 - Interact - 03/20/26 11:57 - Arnold met staff at kennel gate with loose body, and wagging tail. As staff unlocked the gate, Arnold jumped around the outside area in all directions, but settled at the gate as staff introduced the leash. Arnold allowed for easy leashing before lunging out of the gate with a heavy pull towards neighboring kennels on the way out to the yard. Once in the yard, Arnold settled down noticably, and played with soft fuzzy, and squeaky toys, chasing after them when thrown and sniffing from toy to toy before choosing when left to play on his own. He would recall to staff with an 'Arnold, come' and knows 'sit'. He is extremely treat motivated, and once staff had given him a dog frosted cookie, he hardly left his side until the pouch was empty, soliciting pets and sitting repeatedly in attempts to gain more treats. He was easy to leash and walked with a heavy pull back to his kennel, sitting to be unleashed once inside. -GB

19-MAR-26 - Interact - 03/19/26 16:36 Adventure Tail: Arnold did a great job on his Adventure Tail today. Arnold jumped right into staff's car for the adventure and immediately made himself comfortable. Arnold laid down for most of the ride but towards the end of the ride, he decided to go up towards staff so he was laying half in the back seat and half on the lap of the front seat passenger. When we arrived to Bass Pro Shop, Arnold walked in confidently and without a pull. Arnold had a great time sniffing around the store. Arnold said hello to a few citizens and accepted some pets but he was most interested in the sights and smells of Bass Pro Shop. A mother and her daughter walked up to Arnold to give him some pets and he got a little nippy with both of the citizens when they tried to pet him. Arnold did not bite the citizens but he did nibble on their hands slightly. On the car ride back to PRC, Arnold laid in the back seat and took a quick nap. As soon as we entered the gen pop kennels, Arnold had a very strong pull towards the other dogs and got close to the dog that he's neighbors with, trying to bark at them through the fence. However, staff was able to redirect Arnold and put him back in his kennel without issue. RP

18-MAR-26 - Interact - 03/16/26 Per volunteer: Arnold came to the gate wagging. He jumped once or twice but then put all his paws on the ground, and dropping a treat got him leashed. He pulled hard towards the parking lot gate. We walked in the parking lot, where he gently pulled a toy from my apron pocket and carried it for a little while, then dropped it and gently pulled a second toy from the same pocket and carried it for a few minutes before dropping it. We went into the play yard, where he immediately went into the pool, wading and crouching down in the water. He got out of the pool and chased a toy, picked it up, and carried it into the pool for a good dunking and shaking. He did that a few more times with other toys and then came over for a quick pet and a few treats. He chased treats that were tossed for him. He was easy to leash and went back to his kennel, pulling hard and barking at the other dogs along the way.

18-MAR-26 - Interact - 03/18/26 08:40 Arnold became vocal and began jumping when staff approached. When staff began attempting to leash him, Arnold kepting jumping onto his neighbors side of walls. With the door opened for staff to put leash through, Arnold was pushing and facing towards his neighbor. When staff was able to leash him and open the door, Arnold immediately pulled towards neighbor and began barking through his neighbors fence; the neighbor did not reciprocate. Arnold continued to pull and bark towards the dogs as staff walked in opposite direction, subsequently pulling him. In the yard, Arnold had a loose body and high tail. Arnold played independently with a toy and had a high wagging tail. As staff walked around with hands in her hoodie, Arnold would be curious about them at times, and jump at them. Arnold got nippy at times, as he was overstimulated and anticipating a treat; his mouth did make contact with staffs hand when offering a treat. Arnold knows "sit", but takes treats haphazardly. When leaving the yard, Arnold immediately pulled towards a dog in its kennel, and continued to pull as he continued to walk. When nearing his kennel, he immediately sought out his neighbor and bit the fence (the neighbor did not reciprocate, once again). Staff had to pull him away, but once his head was inside of the kennel, he stopped pulling towards neighbor. Arnold allowed staff to easily unleash him as he stood still and quietly. -AA

18-MAR-26 - Interact - 3/12/26 Per volunteer: Arnold was very excited to be leashed and was jumping in his kennel. He tried several toys in the yard before settling on a squeaky toy. He was initially distant but became more comfortable once he realized I had a squeaker in my pocket. He sat and waited politely for treats, though he took them a bit roughly from my hand.

09-MAR-26 - Interact - 03/05/26 Per volunteer: Charlie came to the gate and jumped several times, but a treat got him down on the ground and leashed. He went to the yard with a moderate pull. In the yard, he immediately picked up a toy to see if it squeaked. He then went to every other toy in the yard to see which ones squeaked. From that point forward, he would sniff around the yard, then go pick up a squeaky toy and squeak it, then sniff around a little bit more. He ignored the toys that didn’t squeak. He came over when I squeaked a toy, and I gave him a choice of a toy in one hand or a treat in the other hand. He chose the toy, and took it away to squeak it a few times. He then came back for the treat, and accepted pets while eating it. He took the treat and the toy gently. He accepted pets on his neck, shoulders and back. He dodged the leash initially but another treat got him leashed and he went back to his kennel without issues.
